Victoria Sullivan

As Executive Director at Osler, Victoria Desjardins leads the company’s strategy and commercialization efforts, driving the adoption of AI-powered surgical scheduling solutions that optimize OR efficiency and improve access to care. With a background at the intersection of technology, healthcare operations, and patient engagement, she is passionate about using innovation to solve complex challenges that directly impact patient outcomes.

Before joining Osler, Victoria led growth and commercialization initiatives in clinical trial patient recruitment, helping global pharmaceutical and biotech partners accelerate enrollment and bring therapies to patients faster. She is dedicated to building meaningful partnerships and scaling data-driven solutions that transform healthcare delivery.

Director of AI and Software Development

Alex Salgo

As Lead Software Developer at Osler, Alex directs the technical development and implementation of the company’s AI-powered surgical scheduling platform. With deep expertise in machine learning, operations research, and distributed computing, he leads the design of predictive and optimization algorithms that drive Osler’s mission to improve surgical efficiency and patient access to care.

Alex holds a Master’s Degree in Computing with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Queen’s University, where his research focused on applying deep reinforcement learning to complex scheduling and assignment problems in healthcare. His academic contributions include the first successful application of DRL to the Nurse Scheduling Problem, as well as published work spanning neuroscience simulations, diagnostic tools, and decision-support systems.

A recognized innovator in applied AI, Alex combines advanced research with practical implementation to build scalable, data-driven solutions that transform hospital operations and enhance the quality of care delivery.

Medical AI Specialist

Karen Batch

Karen Batch is Osler’s Medical AI Specialist, where she leads the development, customization, and implementation of Osler’s surgical scheduling optimization platform. With expertise in machine learning and applied artificial intelligence, Karen focuses on designing intuitive, data-driven tools that enhance operating room utilization and improve access to surgical care across Canadian hospitals.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Computer Science with a specialization in Cognitive Science and a Master of Science in Computing with a focus in Artificial Intelligence. Her published research applies Natural Language Processing to analyze radiology reports, detect cancer, and predict metastatic spread over time.

Drawing on her experience at the intersection of AI and healthcare operations, Karen is dedicated to developing solutions that improve efficiency, reduce the cognitive burden on schedulers, and ultimately drive better outcomes for patients and healthcare providers.

VP of Design

Neil Laing

Neil is a strategic creative leader with over 30 years of experience building brands that resonate, scale, and deliver measurable impact. As Director of Brand and Creative Strategy at Osler, he oversees the company’s brand identity, marketing strategy, and product design to ensure a cohesive and compelling presence across all touchpoints.

Throughout his career, Neil has led cross-functional teams in both startup and enterprise environments, uniting strategy and design to drive growth and alignment. At Osler, he partners closely with sales, marketing, and development teams to translate complex technology into clear, human-centered stories that engage hospital leaders and healthcare professionals.

Before joining Osler, Neil served as a senior executive with Distributive, where he spearheaded the company’s rebrand and guided creative, marketing, and product initiatives across its portfolio.

VP of Commercialization

Dan Desjardins

Dan serves as Vice President of Commercialization at Osler, where he leads the company’s growth strategy, commercialization efforts, and market adoption of its AI-powered surgical scheduling solutions. He is responsible for guiding Osler’s strategic direction, building partnerships, and driving the delivery of innovative solutions that improve operating room efficiency and patient access to care.
